The real reason I want to meet Dean Koontz

I’ve been following his novels for years, beginning with Watchers, a delightful accident that’s become a fascination with every new title he produces. Odd Thomas is one of his best so far. He did his research on that one. But the sequel was not all that it could have been for a character with so much potential. Still, it makes a suspenseful reading experience, as usual.
He makes all of the strange things that happen seem not so strange after all.
Something you never want to overhear:
“She was still alive when I left her…”
Gracie, 4 years old, proudly recited the Pledge of Allegiance for me the other day on our way to the zoo. I thought she had mastered the whole thing until she came to the end, “One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all… Please be seated for the announcements and have a fabulous Tuesday!”
Even though I have had many careers in my lifetime, from tattoo artist to radio personality to reporter to English teacher and more in between, I have always been a writer. Because I am a writer, I tend to be more introverted than most people, and socially inept. But I believe I see more than others do because I am more aware of what is going on around me. I adore eccentric people and so many strange things have happened to me (not bad, just bizarre) most people wouldn’t believe me anyway. So I just write it down for anyone who might be interested.
